Moving!

WE ARE MOVING! Why you ask? Well, let me tell you -

It is not uncommon in Southern California for people to commute to work. A 1 hour commute is pretty typical. I commute from Yucaipa to Ontario every day and on the way in (if I time it right) I can get to work in forty minutes. If I don't time it right - it can take about an hour to an hour and 15 minutes. On the way home it usually takes me an hour. That is a typical, not out of the ordinary commute, down here. Brandon on the other hand, commutes almost 2 hours each way (from our door to the door at work) and his commute includes driving to the train station in San Bernardino, taking that train into Union Station, then taking the subway to his office in Downtown, LA. If he misses his train going to work or leaving from work to come home we plan for an additional 30 minutes to an hour because he has to wait around for the next train. He has been doing this for almost three years! We love Yucaipa and we love our ward so we have made the sacrifice to live here - but we just aren't willing to sacrifice anymore. So we sold our house and we are moving in closer to work!

When we prayed about moving we both felt it was right and we said "Stop us if this is wrong" and the "stopping us" has never occurred. In fact our house sold within 5 days (over asking price) and we found a house, a cute restored cottage, to live in really quickly and we LOVE IT! Here are some pictures of our new rental!

It's a cute little house on a tree lined street and it is only about 2 minutes away (Brandon is planning on biking) to the Upland train station and it is about a 5 to 10 minute drive (depending on the stop lights) to where I work in downtown Ontario. We are both excited to have a lot more time to spend with each other since we won't  be spending so much time commuting. I am sad to leave our friends, our ward family, our beautiful home, and my awesome gym - but the pro's definitely out-weigh the cons in this case! We close escrow on our house on the 18th and move into our new rental on the 19th! Exciting!
