Jobs, Vacations, and SUMMER

This summer is cruising buy and it seems like there has been so much going on!

We went Camping with our friends to this campground in the desert that had no showers (it did have a lake) but it was fun because of who we were with -

Two weekends later we went white water rafting, just the two of us, and had one of the best trips ever. Probably the best trip we have ever had as a married couple. We had a few hiccups like forgetting the sleeping bags, and the mess kits, and sun screen, and (fill in the blank) but we laughed about it and went bought what we needed from a local grocery store (seriously...we bought sleeping bags from the local grocery store...they are fleece, and don't keep you warm, but they were better then nothing!). We went out for pizza and that is when I caught this picture....

The HOTTEST man on the Planet

We rafted down the Tuolumne River in central California and went down class 4 and 5 rapids. We definitely want to go again and often! We don't have any pictures of that because we didn't want to chance loosing our cameras/phones in the water but Brandon and I will always have that trip in our memory. It was amazing! 

The fourth of July is next....

We spent it with My family (meg's) and had a blast. My sister's town does a parade and it's a parade mixed with the largest water fight on planet earth. Everyone was soaked head to toe (even the people on the floats in the parade) and it was a great, HOT, time. We got to see some family members who came out from Arizona and NC just to spend the 4th with everyone. We also went to Universal Studios and had an amazing time. We are now annual pass holders (they had a deal where you buy a day and get the rest of the year free!) 

Brandon and I are on the second row from the front with my nephew in between us! 

The week of the Fourth I was given a promotion at work. I am now the Business Operations Director which probably doesn't mean anything to you, but to me it means a lot. I am now over the daily operations and projects within our department. So I am one level (in city terms) above a manager. Next step....Agency Head. That's hopefully on the horizon for me. 

We have also been going on dates! This is a picture of us after we ate at this fancy-smancy restaurant called Caprice and it was DELISH! Right after this we got to see a couple from our ward be sealed and then sealed to their Children. That was the highlight of the evening!

Other than that we have been going to BBQ's, spending time with friends, going on hikes and bike rides, and working our rear ends off.

ON THE BABY FRONT - 

Brandon and I were sent a profile from the California Embryo Adoption Agency that we both felt really good about. We decided to move forward with everything and were feeling good about it all UNTIL we read the legal paperwork. In our prayers we just said "Heavenly Father stop us if we are wrong" and He did. As soon as we started reading through the legal paperwork and the policy and procedures we both got a sinking feeling in our stomachs and we just knew that it was not the right time. We had made all these plans and were so jazzed, but we have come to realize that we are on Heavenly Fathers timeline. When your on His timeline...there is no better, but harder place to be.....so we will just continue to wait our turn and be happy and find the sweetness in life.
