We got some disappointing news on Monday regarding our adoption.
I had thought that we were getting closer because supposedly the State of Idaho only has 60 days to respond, according to federal law, and that they should be returning our paperwork any day and that as soon as our Agency got it back that we would post our profile online. Since we had sent this to them at the beginning of September I thought that we would already be completed with all of this by now. But we are not and we may have to start over with the Out of State Clearance process. Our social worker (who has been so patient with me) is trying to find out what happened but it seems that since we submitted our paperwork there was a form change so the State couldn't process the paperwork. Since we didn't know that there was a new form that even existed we didn't know that there was a need to fill out a new form and the State of California (or Idaho...not sure whose fault) didn't care enough to call and let us know that we need to resubmit. So our paperwork has just been sitting there...for three months.
We don't know how this all happened or what we need to do to fix it. Our social worker is trying to get it all figured out for us. We are thankful for her and all of her hard work.
So it seems that we are probably another 2 or 3 months out from even being approved. Very disappointing.
Oh my word!! That's horrible! I'm so sorry! Maybe your little baby just needs some more time. Sure love you guys!
ReplyDeleteThat is disappointing! We hope things can get straightened out fast so you can be on your way to complete.
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving!
We miss you!
Dislike. That's a real blow to morale when you're waiting. Natalie has it right though, it's probably just not time yet. I'm sorry :(
