Weeks gone by

Weeks go by without us even realizing it!

Right after the fourth of July I headed off to Girls Camp for the week. It was a great week! I always loved girls camp growing up and continue to love it now as a leader...although my perspective has completely changed. When I would go to girls camp as a youth it was to pull pranks and go on hikes. This year we focused on bringing the girls closer to Christ. No hiking involved! or pranks for that matter. Although I did start a huge water fight which was really fun.

While at girls camp Brandon called me and let me know that his Grandfather Keith Auger Hebdon had passed away. Although this is sad news because we wont get to see him anymore it is great news as he has moved on to  do more work for the Lord's Kingdom.

Because we had a flight out early Saturday morning I had to leave girls camp a little early on Friday night after our ward testimony meeting. Brandon was able to come  up to pick me up and be there for the testimony meeting and that was awesome! He got to see why girls camp is so important and how it truly saves souls. Brandon even felt compelled to share his testimony and it was such a sweet testimony of eternal families. It made me so excited to be able to be sealed to our children when the Lord places them in our home.

So we left early Saturday morning for Royal City (where Brandon is from) and we were able to be there for the Funeral and spend some much needed time with Brandon's family. The blessings of the gospel always show at funerals of faithful Latter-Day Saints. It was truly a blessing to be able to celebrate the life that was lived and not the life that was lost.

Brandon and I were both glad to get home and get back to our daily schedule. We do love our home and our ward and after sleeping on the ground for a week and then straight to an air mattress (a great air mattress but still an air mattress) it sure was great to be back into my own comfy bed!

  1. Beautifully written. Grandpa Hebdon will sure be missed, but you wrote that perfectly
